Job summary

Lincoln Village Healthcare Center in Lincoln, IL is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to supervise the respiratory therapy team. The role focuses on ventilator and tracheostomy care, regulatory compliance, and care coordination under the Respiratory Director and Pulmonologist.

You will oversee staff, ensure licensure and competency, and participate in QAPI and leadership activities. The position offers a 6:00 PM–6:00 AM shift with a $12,000 sign-on bonus and mileage reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from NBRC in good standing.
• Valid Illinois state respiratory care practitioner license.
• Experience in ventilator and tracheostomy care, preferably in long-term care or skilled nursing.
• Strong clinical assessment, problem-solving, and time management skills.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee respiratory therapy services for residents with ventilators, tracheostomies, and complex respiratory conditions.
• Ensure treatments and ventilator management align with physician orders and best practices.
• Collaborate with pulmonologist, Medical Director, and nursing leadership on care plans.
• Supervise, schedule, and evaluate Respiratory Therapists (RRTs).
• Maintain licensure, certifications, and competencies among staff.
• Provide orientation, ongoing education, and competency evaluations.
• Maintain safe staff-to-resident ratios at all times.
• Ensure CMS/IDPH/OSHA compliance and update policies.
• Oversee equipment maintenance, cleaning, and proper use.
• Coordinate with vendors for servicing and supply ordering.
• Participate in care plan meetings, QAPI, and leadership meetings.
• Support safety, infection control, and emergency preparedness initiatives.
