Job summary

Lincoln Village Healthcare Center in Lincoln, IL seeks an Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide specialized respiratory care for residents with ventilator support and tracheostomies. The role requires independent work, strong time management, and adherence to regulatory guidelines.

The RRT will perform routine respiratory procedures, monitor status, document findings, and respond to emergencies under the Respiratory Director.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the NBRC.
• Valid Illinois state respiratory care practitioner license.
• Experience in ventilator and tracheostomy care, preferably in long-term care or skilled nursing facility.
• Strong clinical assessment, problem-solving, and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy services to residents with ventilators, tracheostomies, and other complex respiratory needs.
• Perform suctioning, ventilator checks, tracheostomy care, and oxygen therapy.
• Monitor residents' respiratory status and document findings in the medical record.
• Respond to emergencies and provide immediate respiratory support.
• Ventilator unit oversight: maintain competency, ensure policy compliance, collaborate with nursing staff.
• Coordination: work with Respiratory Director, participate in care conferences and quality initiatives; communicate changes promptly.
• Regulatory compliance: adhere to state/federal/facility regulations and keep documentation up to date.
