Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide expert oxygen delivery and ventilator support across departments. You will perform diagnostic procedures and monitor therapies, ensuring high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires RRT credentialing, state licensure, and strong documentation in EMR. Candidates should have critical care experience or recent graduates with RRT credentials.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of Respiratory Therapy required.
• Associate’s degree in respiratory therapy required (BA/BS preferred).
• 2 years critical care experience required for Free-Standing Emergency Department; otherwise new graduates with RRT credentials or experienced RTs with RRT credentials are eligible.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge in modes of oxygen delivery and equipment; conducts prescribed therapeutic procedures.
• Administers therapeutic procedures and performs diagnostic procedures per policy.
• Initiates and monitors mechanical and non-invasive ventilators; aware of critical care duties and effects of therapy.
• Evaluates current therapies and makes proper recommendations on plans of care and patient education needs.
• Documents therapy and results; communicates with healthcare team.
