HomeFirst seeks a Resident Advocate for Via Del Oro in San Jose. This Regular Full Time, non-exempt role covers the swing shift 3:30pm–11pm, supporting program participants, coordinating on-site services, and ensuring safety. Manage HMIS check-ins, intake, and housing plan updates while collaborating with staff.

You will lead weekly on-site workshops, assist with housing plans, and respond to crises using de-escalation and trauma-informed care. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Competenze

• Proven ability to develop client service or housing plans
• Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds; strong interpersonal skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft applications, email, and internet; able to learn web-based databases

Mansioni

• Direct Client Service: care, safety and supervision of participants and guests
• Document services in HMIS within 3 business days
• Complete intake and VI-SPDAT assessments; assist with housing plans
• Lead on-site workshops on financial literacy, tenant rights and job search
• Respond to crises using de-escalation and mental health first aid techniques
• Maintain compliance with agency policies and confidentiality
