Endeavor Health's Swedish Hospital in Chicago is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Rehabilitation Unit to work the Evening shift (3pm-11:30pm). This full-time role involves assisting nursing staff, providing direct patient care, and ensuring safety and comfort on the unit.

You will assist with hygiene, mobility, vital signs, and documentation in the EMR, while following standard precautions and hospital policies.

Qualifications

• CNA certification or completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course.
• American Heart Association CPR certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Effective communication with patients, families and team members.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Good written and verbal communication; organized and self-directed.

Responsibilities

• Provides care to patients on the assigned nursing unit under RN supervision.
• Assists with hygiene, elimination, nutrition and mobility as needed.
• Sets up patient rooms and attaches monitoring equipment for new admissions.
• Supports RN in admitting patients and takes initial vital signs, including Covid-19 patients.
• Documents vital signs and glucose results in EMR accurately.
• Operates with standard PPE and safety precautions; communicates changes to RN.
