Amrize is seeking a 2nd Shift Utility Operator for our Rockville, MD Quarry to support safe and efficient operations. You will operate heavy equipment, perform inspections, and assist with maintenance and general quarry tasks in a dynamic environment.

Qualified candidates have high school education and experience with heavy equipment; strong safety awareness is essential. This role offers opportunities for hands-on work and collaboration with maintenance and production teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience operating heavy equipment in industrial settings.
• Prefer hands-on experience with wheel loaders and dozers.
• Ability to perform routine equipment inspections and safety checks.
• General labor ability for outdoor, industrial environments.
• Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge for minor repairs.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment, including wheel loaders and dozers, to support quarry production and site maintenance.
• Safely load, move, and transport aggregate materials using loaders and other equipment.
• Operate dozers to maintain stockpiles, roadways, and quarry surfaces.
• Perform daily pre- and post-operation inspections and report issues.
• Assist with general quarry labor, including cleanup and material handling.
• Use hand and power tools for maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of equipment.
• Assist with basic electrical tasks under supervision.
• Support maintenance personnel with repairs and preventative tasks.
