Job summary

Amrize is hiring a 2nd Shift Utility Operator to support operations at our Rockville, MD Quarry. The role involves operating heavy equipment, performing basic maintenance, and ensuring safety and environmental standards are met.

You will load and transport aggregates, inspect equipment, and assist maintenance personnel in a fast-paced, outdoor setting. You will work a 2nd shift with opportunities to contribute to production goals while upholding Amrize safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience operating heavy equipment in industrial or recycling environments preferred.
• Experience with wheel loaders and dozers is a strong plus.
• Knowledge of safe heavy equipment operation and routine inspections is essential.
• Able to perform physically demanding outdoor tasks and use various hand/power tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment including wheel loaders and dozers to support quarry production and site maintenance.
• Load and transport aggregate materials safely across quarry areas.
• Perform daily inspections and report mechanical or safety concerns.
• Assist with routine maintenance and basic electrical tasks under supervision.
• Communicate with supervisors and maintenance staff to coordinate daily activities.
• Adhere to PPE requirements and safety procedures at all times.
• Support multiple teams including maintenance, production, and quarry operations.
