Amrize is hiring a 2nd Shift Utility Operator in Rockville, MD. You will operate heavy quarry equipment, perform safety inspections, and support production goals. The role requires outdoor, physically demanding work and strict adherence to safety protocols.

You will work with loaders, dozers, and other equipment, performing routine maintenance and assisting maintenance staff. Amrize offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities within a growing company.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience operating heavy equipment in an industrial or recycling environment.
• Hands-on experience with wheel loaders and dozers preferred.
• Experience in quarry, aggregate, construction, mining, or similar industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of safe heavy equipment operation and routine inspections.
• General labor experience with physically demanding tasks outdoors.
• Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge for minor repairs.
• Ability to work independently and with maintenance teams.
• Commitment to safety and PPE policies.
• Shift flexibility including weekends/overtime.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment including wheel loaders and dozers to support quarry production.
• Load, move, and transport aggregate materials safely.
• Perform daily pre- and post-operation inspections and report issues.
• Assist with general quarry labor and site maintenance tasks.
• Use hand and power tools for routine maintenance and upkeep.
• Support basic electrical tasks and troubleshooting under supervision.
• Assist maintenance with repairs of crushers, conveyors, and screens.
• Maintain safe work areas and follow lockout/tagout procedures.
• Coordinate with supervisors and crews to plan daily work.
