Job summary

Amrize is seeking a 2nd Shift Utility Operator for our Rockville, MD Quarry. You will operate heavy equipment, perform inspections, and support production, maintenance, and safety programs in a busy outdoor environment.

Qualified candidates have prior heavy equipment experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to work a 2nd shift schedule, weekends if needed. Amrize offers comprehensive benefits and a safety‑driven culture.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy equipment in an industrial or recycling environment.
• Strong understanding of safe heavy equipment operation and routine inspections.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors.
• Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge to assist with repairs.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment (wheel loaders, dozers) to support quarry production and material handling.
• Load, move, and transport aggregate materials safely within the quarry.
• Conduct daily pre- and post-operation inspections and report issues.
• Assist maintenance with repairs, troubleshooting, and basic electrical tasks.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and follow safety policies.
