Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is seeking a Patient Transporter who will move patients through the hospital, assist with transfers, and support clinical teams. The role includes transporting by wheelchair, stretcher or bed, and ensuring patient comfort.

You will work evenings (2 - 10 PM), 32 hours per week, with every other weekend and every other holiday as noted. Requires High School diploma and BLS within 6 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification within 6 months.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Customer service orientation and collaboration with hospital staff.
• Preferred: experience in a hospital environment (6 months).

Responsibilities

• Escort ambulatory patients and transport by wheelchair, stretcher or bed.
• Assist nursing staff with patient transfers and positioning.
• Deliver stretchers, beds, and transport equipment; clean between uses.
• Transport patient specimens and other items per infection control guidelines.
• Maintain transport logs and ensure patient comfort and safety.
