Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Milford, MA is seeking a Patient Transporter for on-site night shifts. You will transport patients by wheelchair or bed, assist nursing staff, and maintain transport equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Good interpersonal skills and a customer service orientation.
• Preferred: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 6 months of hire.
• Preferred: Six months’ experience in a hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Escort ambulatory patients and transport them by wheelchair, stretcher, or bed.
• Assist in moving and positioning patients with lift devices.
• Deliver beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs as needed and clean transport equipment.
• Transport patient specimens and materials using infection control guidelines.
• Maintain transporter Trip Log and related records.
