Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is seeking a Patient Transporter to move patients throughout the hospital using wheelchair, stretcher or bed. You will assist nursing staff and maintain safety protocols to ensure patient comfort and safety during transport.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, Basic Life Support within 6 months of hire, and strong English communication. We value teamwork and respect as core standards in a supportive hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Good interpersonal and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Escort ambulatory patients by wheelchair, stretcher or bed.
• Assist nursing staff with patient movement and transfers.
• Deliver beds, stretchers and transport equipment; sanitize after use.
• Transport patient specimens, medical records and supplies per guidelines.
