Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Patient & Equipment Transporter for on-site roles across Worcester, MA campuses. The transporter will assist with patient movement, equipment transport, and delivery of items between departments, ensuring safety and infection control compliance.

A High School diploma and BLS within 6 months are required, with strong English skills and customer service orientation. Position is non-exempt, part-time with 1030AM-7PM shifts, 24 hours weekly, and a potential signing

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Strong customer service orientation to support patient-focused transport operations.

Responsibilities

• Escort ambulatory patients by wheelchair, stretcher or bed.
• Assist nursing staff and lift tech with patient movement and transfers.
• Deliver beds, stretchers, wheelchairs and sanitize transport equipment regularly.
• Transport patient specimens and medical items according to infection control guidelines.
• Support documentation and handoff communications during patient transport.
