Job summary

White Oak Medical Center is seeking an experienced Patient Care Technician for the 8S Observation/General Surgery unit. The role supports Nursing staff by taking vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living, and following the care plan under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Requirements include a Maryland CNA license, CNA program completion, and BLS certification. Evening shifts and weekend rotation apply; strong English skills and computer proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Successful completion of a CNA or first year Nursing School Program and successful completion of the CNA exam required.
• Maryland CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) License required.
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Effective command of English language (spoken and written).
• Physical ability to meet job requirements of lifting, bending and turning.

Responsibilities

• Perform vital signs and activities of daily living under RN supervision.
• Follow care plan as established by the RN and receive reports from the RN.
• Ensure a culture of safety and report malfunctioning equipment and supplies.
• Keep work areas and equipment clean and stored properly.
• Participate in department and organizational education programs and professional initiatives.
