Job summary

White Oak Medical Center is seeking an experienced Patient Care Technician for the Heart and Vascular unit. The role involves vital signs, ADLs, and following care plans under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

The position requires Maryland CNA license and BLS certification, with a 36-hour work week across three 12-hour day shifts and weekend commitments. Join a faith-inspired team delivering quality patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• CNA completion and CNA exam required.
• Maryland CNA License required.
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Effective command of English language (spoken and written).
• Physical ability to meet job requirements of lifting, bending and turning.
• Experience in acute care clinical setting preferred.
• Strong computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform vital signs and activities of daily living under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Specific duties may vary by area of assignment.
• Consideration of the special needs and behaviors of specific patient populations is required.
• Participate in department and organizational education programs, meetings, committees, and professional initiatives
• Commit to personal, professional development in order to adapt effectively to ongoing change
• Present a positive and professional image to represent nursing and the organization
• Follow the care plan as established and delegated by the Registered Nurse
• Receive report from the Registered Nurse
• Ensure a culture of safety
• Identify and reports malfunctioning/expired equipment and supplies
• Ensure work areas and equipment are cleaned and stored appropriately
