Job summary

Endeavor Health's Patient Care Technician position at Swedish Hospital in Chicago requires CNA certification or completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course, CPR certification, and strong communication and confidentiality skills.

The role involves assisting with patient hygiene, vital signs, documentation in EMR, and collaboration with the nursing team, with evenings 3p-11:30p, four days a week, including every other weekend and rotating holidays.

Qualifications

• CNA certification or successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or equivalent
• American Heart Association CPR Certification
• High school graduate or equivalent
• Ability to interact effectively with others
• Ability to uphold confidentiality standards appropriately
• Must communicate effectively (both written and verbally), be organized and self directed

Responsibilities

• Provides care to patients on assigned nursing unit under the direction of a Clinical Nurse Manager.
• Communicates effectively with patient, families, visitors, and health care team in a respectful manner.
• Assists with patient hygiene and elimination needs as required.
• Sets up patient rooms for new admissions with ECG cables and monitors.
• Assists RN in admitting patients, takes vital signs, and documents in EMR.
• Assists with nutrition, ambulation, and patient safety.
• Performs 12-lead ECG as directed and maintains unit stocked with supplies.
