Job summary

Nebraska Medicine is seeking a Sr Patient Access Associate for the Emergency Department, evenings, part-time. You will be the first point of contact for patients, handling registration, insurance verification, and payments with professionalism and empathy.

This 20-hour weekly role requires strong customer service, multitasking, and accuracy. Training is provided before transitioning to the regular schedule; duties include face-to-face interactions and coordinating with care teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years customer service experience.
• High school education or equivalent.
• Ability to work in a proactive self-directed manner.
• Multi-tasking and problem solving abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to type 35 wpm with 95% accuracy.
• BLS certification within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and customers professionally and timely.
• Create and verify accounts to optimize cash flow.
• Assist with scheduling, pre-registration, registration, and insurance verification.
• Receipt of payments and patient way finding/escorting.
• Coverage 24/7 across various departments including the ED.
• Face-to-face and bedside patient contact.
