Job summary

MultiCare Health System, Inc. is hiring a Patient Access Technician for evenings at our Off-Campus Emergency Departments in Washington. You will welcome patients, handle admissions, verify insurance and collect demographic data to ensure efficient registrations.

The role collaborates with financial counselors and clinical teams to support a smooth patient experience. Responsibilities include admitting patients, pre-admitting scheduled visits, and maintaining accurate records in the computer

Qualifications

• Graduate of health vocational program such as patient access, medical assistance, medical billing and insurance or medical general.
• One year of admitting, billing, registration or customer service experience may be considered in lieu of education.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients at off-campus emergency departments and complete admissions/registrations.
• Obtain inpatient bed assignments and process admission steps (arm banding, addressograph plate, forms).
• Pre-admit scheduled inpatients and ambulatory patients to speed admissions.
• Enter direct admit information and notify relevant departments in the system.
• Conduct patient interviews to collect demographics, insurance and third party information.
• Verify eligibility, resolve discrepancies, and refer for financial assistance as needed.
