Job summary

MultiCare Health System is seeking a Patient Access Technician (PAT) to welcome patients at one of our Off-Campus Emergency Departments in Washington. The role collaborates with financial and clinical teams to create the optimal patient experience and streamline admissions.

The position requires a health vocational program graduate and 1 year of admitting or customer service experience; day shift with 12-hour rotations is offered. Join a team dedicated to care, equity and service.

Qualifications

• Graduate of health vocational program such as patient access, medical assistance, medical billing and insurance or medical general.
• One year of admitting, billing, registration or customer service experience may be considered in lieu of education.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients at the Off-Campus Emergency Department and ensure accurate admissions/registrations.
• Obtain bed assignments and manage inpatient admission processes including arm banding and forms.
• Pre-admit scheduled inpatients and ambulatory patients to facilitate smooth processing.
• Enter admission information and notify other areas as needed in the system.
• Complete interviews to collect demographics, insurance and third-party information and verify eligibility.
