Sanford Health in Fargo, ND is seeking a Part-time Patient Access Representative for evening shifts (4:00 PM–8:00 PM) to provide exceptional service at the first point of contact. You will support registration, scheduling, and patient financial processes, contributing to a welcoming clinic experience.

Hours are 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with potential variation based on staffing needs. This role emphasizes accuracy, teamwork with the nursing staff, and a strong focus on patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Post-secondary education helpful.
• One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
• Medical terminology helpful; customer service skills essential.
• Six months' customer service experience desired.
• May require BLS for certain locations and/or settings.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and verifies demographics.
• Create, scan and route documents or electronic forms.
• Inform patients what the document is and capture signatures.
• Establish and assign financial responsibility; assist with arrangements.
• Collect co-payments, pre-payments, and payments on account balances.
• Address registration errors or denied insurance claims as needed.
• Coordinate with nursing team and providers to schedule appointments.
• Obtain referrals and conduct pre-authorization; arrange interpreter services.
• Check patients in and out; operate multi-line phone; manage recall and waitlists.
