Job summary

Bickford Senior Living seeks a Medication Technician to support resident care by administering daily medications in a compassionate manner, following physician orders and the Six Rights. The role emphasizes leadership on shift and adherence to policy as you work with the eMAR system.

You will collaborate with the clinical team to ensure accurate med administration and contribute to a caring, patient-centered environment for our residents.

Qualifications

• Active Medication Technician Certification in good standing or at least one year of experience in the care of seniors.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Willing to take additional state-required training.
• CPR and First Aid certifications are required.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Organizational and time management skills are important.
• Good judgment, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to learn or utilize Bickford’s eMAR system.

Responsibilities

• Accurately following the resident MAR to ensure that medications are given out according to the Physician’s orders.
• Understand and follow the “Six rights of medication administration” and all of Bickford’s policies and procedures regarding medication management.
• Understand and appropriately utilize the eMAR system for medication administration.
• Communicate appropriately with clinical leadership for clarification and direction regarding resident medication administration and care.
• Providing direct resident care. Supervision of resident care work of non-licensed team members and other areas of the branch as appropriate.
• You will be a leader in demonstrating the Bickford Mission ‘Whatever it Takes’ to all other team members on shift.
