Job summary

Bickford Senior Living is seeking a Medication Technician to support resident care by administering medications per physician orders and following the Six rights for safe med administration. You will use the eMAR system and collaborate with clinical leadership to ensure accuracy and care quality.

The role emphasizes compassionate care, daily patient interactions, and leading peers on shift while upholding the Bickford Mission to enrich residents’ happiness and independence.

Qualifications

• Active Medication Technician Certification in good standing or at least one year of senior care experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Willing to take additional required state training.
• CPR and First Aid certifications are required.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Written and verbal communication skills.
• Organizational and time-management skills.
• Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision‑making abilities.
• Ability to utilize or learn eMAR system to administer medications.

Responsibilities

• Accurately follow the resident MAR to ensure medications are given per Physician’s orders.
• Follow the Six rights of medication administration and Bickford’s policies.
• Understand and use the eMAR system for medication administration.
• Communicate with clinical leadership for clarification and direction regarding resident medication administration and care.
• Provide direct resident care and supervise non-licensed team members as appropriate.
• Lead by demonstrating the Bickford Mission ‘Whatever it Takes’ on shift.
