Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to provide scrub support across designated cases and specialties. You will assist in preparing the OR, selecting instruments, and ensuring sterile technique throughout procedures.

The role requires completion of an accredited surgical technology program with certification and an active BLS credential, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited school of surgical technology and certification as of hire.
• All Surgical Technologist Certified employees will hold a credential from a recognized certifying body.
• Maintain current BLS certification every two years.

Responsibilities

• Scrub for all physicians in assigned service area with proficiency and minimal supervision.
• Prepare OR for cases; check case cart and cards for instruments and supplies.
• Anticipate equipment needs and set up back table and Mayo tray accordingly.
• Assist surgeon and team; monitor field and respond to emergencies.
• Label medications on sterile field and manage specimens and supplies.
