Job summary

Stanford Health Care in Palo Alto, CA is seeking an Assistant Patient Care Manager (APCM) to lead a designated patient care unit, supervise staff, and coordinate clinical and administrative activities. You will support the Patient Care Manager, mentor staff, participate in process improvement, and help deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a state-of-the-art facility, including 500P ORs.

RN with a Bachelor's in Nursing and California licensure, plus 2 years of related experience, is

Qualifications

• RN with Bachelor’s in Nursing and state licensure
• Two years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience
• Ability to lead, coach and mentor clinical staff
• Strong knowledge of nursing standards and patient care quality

Responsibilities

• Assist in the operational management of a designated unit, mentoring staff and ensuring quality, cost-effective patient care
• Support the Patient Care Manager and assume duties during absences
• Coordinate unit patient care operations for assigned shifts
• Facilitate orientation, training and ongoing staff development
• Monitor patient care processes and outcomes to improve workflow and outcomes
• Communicate expectations and monitor staff performance
• Participate in program planning, quality and risk management initiatives
• Serve as liaison to the Patient Care Manager
