Job summary

Barnes Foundation seeks a Service Worker at our Philadelphia campus to ensure a first-class experience for visitors and staff. The role requires evening shifts, 30 hours per week, with some event nights, and involves maintaining the building and grounds with care.

Responsibilities include assisting guests, handling daily work orders, and upholding policies on attendance and dress code while coordinating with facilities management.

Qualifications

• High School Education is required.
• Experience maintaining first class, one-of-a-kind buildings is preferred.
• Experience in hospitality or museum settings is a plus.
• Ability to read and understand chemical SDS sheets.
• Ability to complete Barnes Foundation customer service training.
• Ability to pass OSHA ladder and lift training.

Responsibilities

• Assist visitors, guests and staff with the highest level of customer service and provide information in a welcoming manner.
• Resolve problems in a helpful, polite, and accurate way with staff and visitors.
• Read and understand daily work orders and assignments.
• Adhere to Foundation policies including attendance, punctuality, and dress code.
• Perform tasks to maintain appearance and order of the building and grounds.
• Ensure tools, equipment and work areas are clean, tidy, and organized.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning, rest room and break room supplies.
• Use industrial-strength chemicals as needed throughout the site.
• Move and arrange furniture for events, meetings and relocations.
• Set up and take down signage and stanchions.
• Prepare areas scheduled for events and ensure readiness before, during, and after events.
• Receive and distribute mail, packages, and printed materials.
