Job summary

Barnes Foundation seeks a Service Worker: Guest and Protection Services Senior Specialist in Philadelphia. This role supports front-line operations with surveillance, access control, and exceptional guest experiences, while protecting the art collection and campus facilities.

The position requires 2–3 years in security or related fields, a high school diploma, and strong interpersonal skills. Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays is expected; bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Two to three years of experience in security, guest services, hospitality, or event management.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Outgoing personality with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail with observational and reasoning skills.
• Ability to multi-task and stay calm in high-volume or stressful periods.
• Proficiency with patrol scanning devices, access control systems, and related tools.
• Interest in art and protection; bilingual/multilingual a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the building and grounds are welcoming and safe for visitors and guests.
• Oversee safety of the art collection, property, and grounds by enforcing rules and policies.
• Monitor building and collection with video and access control systems; manage entry/exit.
• Provide superior customer service and act as concierge to guests and staff.
• Engage guests with information about the Foundation’s history and programs; manage tours and visitation collateral.
• Coordinate VIP experiences and manage special guest logistics for a positive visit.
• Handle challenging situations professionally and conduct bag inspections when needed.
• Perform regular tours and inspect for hazards or mechanical issues; report concerns to supervisor.
• Contribute to emergency response and support other staff as needed.
