Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living in Virginia Hampton is seeking a Registered Medication Associate (RMA) to provide high-quality medication administration and resident care. The RMA will support residents in a caring, individualized manner and act as a Culture Ambassador upholding the company values.

The schedule includes 3pm–11pm shifts, part-time or full-time, with every other weekend required. The role requires RCA certification, ongoing CE credits, and the ability to work weekends and flexible

Qualifications

• Must have completed coursework and examinations to obtain certification as a Resident Care Associate.
• Must maintain continuing education credits as required by the state to keep certification current.
• Knowledge of safe medication administration techniques with competency evaluation.
• CPR and First Aid certified or willing to obtain per company policy.
• Must understand and practice resident confidentiality.
• Must be able to work weekends and flexible hours as needed for resident care.
• Must show compassion and genuine concern for seniors and families.
• Proficient with basic office equipment and computer use.

Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring and safe delivery of the Medication Management Program.
• Follow established policies and procedures and state regulatory standards when administering medications.
• Administer medications and accurately record administration as prescribed by the physician.
• Present medications to residents and observe ingestion or other administration methods.
• Observe and report adverse reactions or side effects; coordinate with Resident Care Director as needed.
• Document and record vital signs and therapy responses during medication administration.
• Maintain accurate medication inventories and restock as needed.
• Communicate clearly with residents and staff; seek guidance when indicated.
