Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living is seeking a Registered Medication Associate (RMA) for our Kilmarnock, VA community. The role focuses on administering medications, monitoring resident health, and maintaining accurate records to ensure high-quality, compassionate care.

Open Interviews are held every Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at 460 South Main St, Kilmarnock VA 22482. A state-certified RMA with CPR/First Aid readiness is preferred; weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

• Certified as Resident Care Associate and maintain CE credits as required by state.
• Knowledge of safe medication administration techniques and competency evaluation.
• CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain per policy.
• Maintain resident confidentiality at all times.
• Ability to work weekends and flexible hours as needed for resident care.
• Demonstrate compassion and genuine concern for seniors and their families.
• Proficiency with basic office equipment for daily tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring and safe delivery of the Medication Management Program.
• Administer and record medications as prescribed; observe ingestion.
• Document vital signs, changes, and disposition in resident records.
• Maintain safe storage and inventory of medications; reorder as needed.
• Ensure infection control practices and OSHA standards are followed.
• Communicate with residents, families, and staff; escalate concerns to the Resident Care Director.
• Act as shift supervisor when appropriate and maintain daily communication with leadership.
