Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, IL is seeking a Part-Time Lab Technologist for evenings to support Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology and more. The role requires adherence to QC and proficiency testing standards, with potential Lead Tech responsibilities during shifts.

Qualifications

• ASCP certification preferred.
• One year hospital laboratory experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological health science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, or CLIA requirements.
• Current and valid State License if the laboratory is located in a state where required.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to procedures for collection, processing, analysis and reporting of patient test results.
• Follow quality control policies and document corrective actions when tests deviate.
• Identify problems that may affect test performance and escalate to supervisor or director.
• Perform diverse laboratory procedures across hematology, blood bank, chemistry, urinalysis, coagulation, microbiology and related disciplines.
• Maintain instruments and equipment with routine daily, weekly, monthly checks as needed.
• Review accuracy of patient results prior to release.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological health science or Medical Laboratory Technology

ASCP certification

Current and Valid State License
