Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a laboratory professional to perform a range of tests across hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and blood bank with CLIA-level responsibilities. The role includes specimen collection, QC, troubleshooting, and result reporting in a fast-paced environment.

The position requires a BS in Medical Technology or an related degree with high complexity testing qualifications or an MLT with extensive experience. Schedule is weekend-based; shift varies as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology and high complexity testing qualifications per CLIA 493.1489.
• Associates degree in Medical Technology with high complexity testing qualifications per CLIA 493.1489.
• MLT certification with required years of experience or specific lab responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Collect and process patient specimens; use LIS to manage orders and records.
• Perform waived, moderate, and high complexity laboratory tests per policy.
• Maintain quality control and proficiency testing; troubleshoot when results are questionable.
• Provide training and mentoring to partners; participate in committees and method evaluations.
