Job summary

Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, IL, seeks a Part-Time Clinical Laboratory Technologist for the Evening shift (3pm–11:30pm) handling waived to highly complex tests per CLIA. The role is hospital-based and requires strong teamwork within the Clinical Lab.

Qualifications include ASCP certification preferred, two years hospital lab experience, and a Bachelor’s degree in health science or MLT, with state licensure where required. Opportunities exist for leadership and LIS/POC responsibilities.

Qualifications

• ASCP certification or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum two years of hospital laboratory work experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological health science or Medical Laboratory Technology.
• Current and valid State License if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to laboratory procedures for collection, processing, analysis, and reporting of patient test results.
• Follow quality control policies and document corrective actions.
• Identify problems affecting test performance and notify supervisor immediately.
• Perform diverse lab procedures in Hematology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Microbiology, Immunology.
• Perform and document maintenance on instruments and equipment.
• Review accuracy of patient results prior to reporting.
• Recognize age-specific differences in expected results.
• Ensure proficiency testing samples are tested like patient samples.
• May be required to perform venipuncture.
• Assist in development and maintenance of lab policies and procedures.
• Adhere to safety, infection control, emergency preparedness, HR policies.
• In absence of a supervisor, may be Lead Tech.
• May handle LIS and/or POC tasks.
• Other duties as assigned.
