Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Troy, MI seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist II to perform moderate/high complexity test procedures with independent judgment. The role includes shift differential details and weekend rotation; duties cover QC, instrument troubleshooting, data entry, and adherence to safety and regulatory requirements.

Requirements include 1 year of clinical lab experience, a relevant degree, and preferred ASCP certification.

Qualifications

• One (1) year full-time experience or training (high complexity testing) in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Bachelor’s degree or ASCP-eligible/ certified per requirements.
• ASCP Certification (Preferred) and familiarity with CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficiency in all areas of testing and troubleshoot instruments/procedures.
• Support quality control, problem solving, and process improvements.
• Perform and report analytical tests per SOP with QC requirements.
• Maintain compliance with lab safety and patient data privacy.
• Enter test results into the Laboratory Information System for reports.
• Assist supervisor with training and may assume lead responsibilities when needed.
