Experience: 1 year in a clinical lab; preferred 3 years in current dept. BS/BA in Medical Technology or Biology/C chemistry; ASCP certification preferred.

Qualifications

• One year full-time experience or training in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Minimum of 3 years clinical experience with most current year in present department.
• BS/BA in Medical Technology, Chemistry or Biology, or Associates degree in a Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• Foreign educated candidates must provide credential evaluation (IERF).
• Check state testing certifications as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Proficient troubleshooting all applicable instruments/procedures.
• Support quality control, troubleshooting, instrument maintenance and staff training.
• Perform and report analytical tests per SOP with quality control requirements.
• Maintain records of patient test results and specimen handling.
• Enter test results into the Laboratory Information System for physician review.
• Adhere to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA and safety requirements.
• May assist supervisor with training of other staff.
