Job summary

UVA Community Health is seeking a supervisory laboratory professional to enhance leadership capacity and align the organizational structure across Community Health laboratories. The role focuses on overseeing lab operations, QC, training, and HR-related duties within a department.

The incumbent will manage quality control, implement new techniques, and ensure effective collaboration with medical staff and hospital operations as part of UVA Health system’s community labs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field.
• Successful completion of a NAACLS accredited Medical Laboratory Science program or certified as AMT/MLS within 18 months of hire.
• 3 years of experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist.

Responsibilities

• Perform all lab procedures including QC, specimen collection, processing, testing, and reporting.
• Assist in evaluating new or modified techniques when required.
• Oversee lab operations for a department with HR responsibilities.
