Job summary

UVA Community Health, part of the UVA Health system, seeks a Supervisory Laboratory professional to manage core lab operations, ensure quality control, oversee testing and reporting, and contribute to staff training. This role supports the department with HR-related duties and requires strong leadership within a clinical lab setting.

The incumbent will supervise laboratory procedures, ensure compliance with CLIA guidelines, and collaborate with medical staff to communicate results effectively

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in medical technology or related science.
3 years of experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
MLT Certification or MLS within 18 months of hire; AMT/MLS/BOC qualifications as applicable.
ASCP/AMT/BOC certification maintenance requirements and CMP/CCP participation.

Responsibilities

Perform all laboratory procedures including quality control, specimen collection, processing, testing, and reporting of results.
Assist in evaluation of new or modified techniques; oversee training of personnel on equipment and software.
Oversee department operations with HR responsibilities.
