Job summary

UVA Community Health is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to perform all lab procedures, including quality control, specimen collection, processing, testing and reporting of results. The role includes evaluating new techniques and supervising HR aspects of the department.

The incumbent will train personnel on equipment and software, oversee lab operations within a department and ensure compliance with CLIA guidelines. Requires 3 years of CLS experience and appropriate certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or related field.
• 3 years of experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
• MLT certification required upon hire; NAACLS/AMT/MLS certification within 18 months of hire.
