Job summary

UVA Health Haymarket Medical Center seeks a supervisory Clinical Laboratory role to oversee lab operations, ensure quality control, and guide training for staff. The incumbent will lead QA efforts, coordinate HR-related tasks within the lab, and support implementation of new techniques, reporting results accurately.

The position requires a Bachelor’s in medical technology or related field, plus 3 years of CLS experience and appropriate certifications. On-site work with on-call duties applies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related science.
• 3 years of clinical laboratory experience.
• MLT certification required upon hire.
• NAACLS/AMT/MLS certification within 18 months.
• Ability to read protocols and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform all laboratory procedures including QC, specimen collection, processing, testing, and reporting of lab results.
• Oversee lab operations for a department with HR responsibilities.
• Assist in orientation and training of personnel on equipment and software.
• Evaluate new or modified techniques as required.
