Job summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare seeks a Laboratory Supervisor to lead daily and shift operations within the clinical laboratory. The role ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and standards, while guiding staff through scheduling, training, and performance evaluations in partnership with laboratory leadership.

The position emphasizes quality initiatives, cost analysis, preventive maintenance, and documentation to deliver high-quality patient care and efficient lab operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology.
• ASCP high complexity eligibility or transcript evaluation to determine eligibility with AMT/equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years in clinical laboratory/section supervision or related leadership.

Responsibilities

• Oversee department operations and staff scheduling.
• Review timecards and performance evaluations.
• Coordinate staff training, competency assessments and CE requirements.
• Ensure compliance with Federal and State regulatory standards (CLIA, JCAHO, CAP).
• Develop and implement laboratory policies, quality initiatives and process improvements.
• Provide leadership and guidance in goal setting, problem solving and resource management.
