AdventHealth in the United States is seeking a Laboratory Leader to drive performance improvement, quality assurance, and staff development within the clinical laboratory. The role emphasizes safety, regulatory adherence, and effective communication across multiple teams.

Responsibilities include overseeing testing workflows, instrument maintenance, training, and mentoring; ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with federal, state, and institutional standards in a dynamic hospital lab

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
• CLIA equivalency options may apply if the field of study does not match.
• 1+ year of leadership experience preferred; 3+ years of clinical laboratory experience required.

Responsabilités

• Leads and participates in laboratory performance improvement activities to promote team engagement, patient satisfaction and safety.
• Manages quality assessment, oversight, scheduling, interviewing applicants, staff performance input, training, and competency evaluations.
• Performs pre-analytical activities including equipment maintenance, function checks, documentation, inventory control, specimen collection and processing.
• Participates in laboratory and hospital Performance Improvement activities.
• Completes tests and analytical procedures accurately per procedures, participating in proficiency testing and following regulations.
• Conducts post-analytical activities, reports results including highly abnormal results, and provides info for lab testing across ages.
• Reads, interprets complex test results and serves as resource for complex tests/procedures.
• Manages instrument maintenance and troubleshooting; leads quality control and QA testing.
• Provides orientation and training to new employees and students; documents training.
• Guides technical staff, resolves customer service issues, and supports education to clinical staff as requested.
• Follows safety policies, PPE usage, and hazardous waste handling; completes required training.
• Assists with SOPs and document control; may transport hazardous waste as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
