Job summary

Friendship Community Care is seeking a Direct Support Professional to join an interdisciplinary team, delivering high-quality services in home and community settings. You will assist clients with daily living tasks, provide transportation, and maintain documentation in line with HIPAA and Medicaid guidelines.

Respect, confidentiality, and compliance with the Plan of Care are essential as you support clients toward safety and independence. A valid Arkansas driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or two+ years' experience with developmentally disabled individuals.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Ability to read and write simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and in small groups.

Responsibilities

• Assist Clients in basic living skills and daily personal tasks (showers, dressing, housekeeping, meals, budgeting).
• Provide transportation to and from activities and appointments as needed.
• Maintain communication via logs and staff meetings about clients' needs and progress.
• Complete required documentation (behavior reports, incident reports, progress notes, forms) per Medicaid guidelines.
• Report incidents or emergencies to supervisors immediately; follow safety procedures.
• Assist in Plan of Care management to ensure health, safety, and security; monitor medications.
• Model professional behavior and maintain FCC dress code and decorum.
• Assist in facility and vehicle maintenance and upkeep.
• Attend required training and provide proof of liability insurance.
