Job summary

Beth Israel Deconess Hospital Plymouth, part of Beth Israel Lahey Health, seeks a Histology Technician/Technologist for per diem evening shifts. Responsibilities include preparing and processing tissue specimens, performing IHC staining, specimen accessioning, and maintaining equipment and records.

Requirements include a high school diploma (AS degree preferred) and HT(ASCP) certification or a Bachelor's with CAP HT minimums, with certification targeted within 18 months of hire.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required.
• AS degree preferred for advancement in Histology.
• HT(ASCP) certification or Bachelor's with CAP HT minimums and pathology lab experience required, with certification within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, process, embed, cut, coverslip, stain, and mount tissue specimens for evaluation by pathologists.
• Perform routine and special staining procedures, including IHC, and conduct quality control on slides.
• Accession specimens for Pathology and Cytology in the computer and communicate specimen issues to providers.
