Job summary

Coury Hospitality is seeking a PM Host Person who greets guests with eye contact and a smile, manages the waitlist and reservations, and supports servers to ensure a smooth dining flow. You are the first impression and will balance seating with the service team's needs.

This position requires English fluency, excellent presentation, and the ability to multitask in a busy dining room. Proficiency with OpenTable and a standard POS system is expected.

Qualifications

• Fluent in reading, writing, and spoken English.
• Excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests, coworkers, and supervisors.
• Ability to think and communicate clearly, organize and prioritize in high pressure situations.
• Basic knowledge of the restaurant's menu, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
• Knowledgeable of basic sanitation.
• Knowledgeable of computer operations and ordering procedures.
• Ability to absorb large amounts of information quickly: service procedures, menus, and dining room floor plan, register operation.
• Able to successfully multitask.
• Ability to maintain excellent attendance and punctuality; ability to work all shifts, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greets guests, manages waitlist and seating chart, and escorts guests to seats.
• Uses OpenTable to take reservations and manage seating for walk-ins.
• Maintains knowledge of menus and day’s availability; acquainted with frequent guests and preferences.
• Directs seating rotation to balance service stations and workload.
• Oversees dining room function, relays guest feedback, and maintains congenial atmosphere.
• Answers dining room telephone, takes reservations, and disseminates messages.
• Handles guest service issues promptly and reports to Manager on Duty.
• Reconciles cash till and follows cash handling policies.
• Keeps workstation and surroundings clean and orderly.
• Ensures coverage at host stand and communicates guest preferences to service team.
