Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a customer-focused team member to ensure outstanding service in a busy department. You will assist customers, maintain a clean environment, and help the department manager achieve sales and profit goals while upholding quality standards.

You will answer product questions, suggest items, monitor freshness, support inventory, and participate in safety and compliance programs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions about products.
• Gain knowledge of products and respond to questions with suggestions.
• Recommend grocery items to customers and inform about specials.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness and review sell-by dates.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise; provide fresh products.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers and logs.
• Reinforce safety programs and identify unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and notify management of needed repairs.
• Report any customer or employee accidents.
• Report safety risks and illegal activity.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation.
