Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island seeks a Nursing Attendant for the Float Pool in a part-time evening schedule. You will assist in direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse, helping maintain a safe environment and smooth unit operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of Certified Nursing Attendant program or minimum 6 months relevant experience.
• BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification required upon entry to the position.

Responsibilities

• Assist in admission/transfer/discharge of patients and orient them to the hospital environment.
• Perform rounds, respond to calls, and assist with basic patient care tasks.
• Prepare bedside units, assist with meals, and support activities of daily living.
• Assist RN with procedures, specimen collection, and monitoring vital signs.
• Maintain clean and safe patient areas and report changes to RN.
• Support patient safety and comfort and help coordinate with health care team.
