Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Nursing Attendant for the Float Pool on a part-time, evening schedule. You will assist in patient admission, transfer, discharge, and ongoing care under RN supervision, ensuring patient safety and comfort.

The role emphasizes basic hygiene, vital signs, meal support, and collaboration with the health care team to maintain a clean, safe environment. Prior CNA training or 6 months experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of Certified Nursing Attendant program or minimum 6 months relevant experience.
• BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification required on entry.
• Excellent English communication and strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Admission/Transfer/Discharge: orient patients and prepare bedside setup.
• Take rounds, monitor comfort, safety, and needs; respond to call lights.
• Assist with basic hygiene, dressing, feeding, and routine care.
• Support RN with simple treatments and supply handling.
• Move, lift, and transport patients safely as directed by the RN.
• Maintain clean, stocked, and safe patient rooms; report changes to the RN.
