Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island is seeking a Nursing Attendant for the Float Pool (Part-time, Nights). The role involves assisting with direct and indirect patient care under RPN supervision, maintaining a safe environment, and supporting the nursing process in a busy hospital setting.

Responsibilities include admissions/discharges, patient rounds, hygiene, meal assistance, vital signs, and collaboration with the care team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of Certified Nursing Attendant program or minimum 6 months relevant experience.
• BLS/Heartsaver CPR/AED certification required upon entry to the position.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Admission/Transfer/Discharge of patients and orient to hospital environment.
• Conduct patient rounds for toileting, positioning, comfort and safety.
• Provide basic hygiene and feeding support; assist with activities of daily living.
• Record vital signs and report abnormalities to RN.
• Assist with moving, lifting, and transport of patients; maintain safe environment.
