Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician in Forest View, IL to keep fleet equipment running safely and efficiently. You’ll perform preventative maintenance, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and ensure repairs meet industry standards.

You’ll read precision instruments, use diagnostic tools, and apply welding skills as needed while complying with DOT/ EPA/ ICC/ OSHA rules and maintaining strong customer relations.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent.
• Experience as maintenance technician or equivalent.
• Experience with truck repair and body/frame repair.
• Must provide own tools to perform duties.
• Ability to complete required paperwork and records.
• Must possess a valid CDL when required.
• Knowledge of DOT, EPA, ICC and OSHA rules and regulations.
• Willingness to participate in training and shift changes.
• Willing to take tests for management classification.
• Maintains superior customer relations.
• Willing to work on any piece of rolling stock and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Repair equipment in a safe, timely, cost effective manner including preventative maintenance and general repairs.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, or other failures on trucks and trailers.
• Read precision instruments and use electronic diagnostic tools.
• Weld horizontally/vertically when applicable.
• Apply knowledge of applicable DOT/ EPA/ ICC/ OSHA rules.
