Job summary

G&W Electric Co. in Romeoville, IL seeks an Electronic Technician I to assemble, troubleshoot, connect and test electronic assemblies of basic to moderate complexity. You will read drawings and BOMs, install and test assemblies, inspect final checkout, and document actions.

The role requires safe use of hand and power tools, reading schematics, basic computer skills, and familiarity with wiring diagrams and Gerber files. 1–2 years' experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Able to safely use small hand and power tools.
• Read and interpret drawings and Bills of Material.
• Basic computer literacy and clerical accuracy.
• Familiar with wiring diagrams, interconnect drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Assemble junction boxes, electronic controls and other assemblies per drawings.
• Install and test completed electronic assemblies.
• Inspect for final electronics checkout and document actions.
• Interact with manufacturing to ensure proper installation and testing.
• Troubleshoot assemblies for production and aftermarket support.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and conserve resources.
• Assist training of new employees on basic testing tasks.
• Inspect all work before passing to the next operation.
