Job summary

G&W Electric seeks an Electronic Technician I in Bolingbrook, IL to assemble, troubleshoot, connect and test electronic assemblies of basic to moderate complexity. You will follow mechanical and electrical drawings, assemble junction boxes and controls, install and test assemblies, and inspect final electronics checkout.

You will read schematics, Bills of Materials and wiring diagrams, use basic test equipment, and assist with training new employees.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or combination of work experience and skill development.
• Ability to read drawings and Bills of Materials.
• Familiarity with wiring diagrams, interconnect drawings / ladder logic, schematics and Gerber files.
• Ideally an Associate degree in Electronics or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 1-2 years in an electronics technician capacity preferred.
• Must understand and follow written and verbal English instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assemble junction boxes, electronic controls and other assemblies per drawings.
• Install and test completed electronic assemblies and perform final checkout inspection.
• Troubleshoot assemblies for production and aftermarket support.
• Interact with manufacturing to ensure proper installation and test of assemblies.
• Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
• Train others in moderately complex electronic assembly tasks as needed.
• Maintain safe, clean working environment and follow procedures.
