Job summary

G&W Electric Co. is hiring an Electronic Technician I in Romeoville, Illinois.

The role involves assembling junction boxes, control boards, and other electronic assemblies per mechanical and electrical drawings, followed by testing and inspection for final checkout. You will interface with manufacturing to ensure correct installation and testing of assemblies and troubleshoot for production and aftermarket support.

Qualifications

• Must be able to safely use small hand and power tools.
• Able to read and interpret drawings and Bills of Materials.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Working knowledge of wiring diagrams, interconnect drawings, ladder logic, schematics and Gerber files.
• Able to bench troubleshoot wiring using diagrams and discrete components.
• Knowledge of millimeters and power supplies.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures.
• Assist with training new employees on basic testing tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assemble junction boxes, electronic controls and other assemblies per drawings.
• Install and test completed electronic assemblies.
• Inspect for final electronics checkout.
• Interact with manufacturing to ensure proper installation and test of assemblies.
• Troubleshoot electronic assemblies for production and aftermarket support.
• Maintain safe, clean work environment and conserve resources.
• Contribute to team by training others as needed.
• Inspect all work prior to passing to next operation.
• Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
